ZDNET's health and wearables editor has been previewing health and wellness products on the Las Vegas Strip ahead of CES 2026, sharing early looks at new consumer health devices and wearables. One device, Allergen Alert, is a square unit that samples food inside a pouch, smashes and dilutes the sample, then tests for traces of lactose or gluten; Allergen Alert CEO Antoine Burgaud says it is FDA-approved and says Michelin-starred restaurants are already using it.

The company plans to launch the allergy-detecting device in mid-2026 and aims to add more common allergens. Withings' Body Scan 2 is a smart scale that the company says assesses hypertension risk, ECG, cardiac efficiency and reactivity, arterial stiffness, metabolic efficiency and more, delivering those biomarkers in less than 90 seconds.

Withings says the guidance from the scale and its app can help during periods of cardiometabolic imbalance, such as chronic stress, a sedentary lifestyle, weight change, or menopause and perimenopause.
