This is an endemic bird species native to Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, and found nowhere else in the world. This bird is known for several unique features: Eggs: Their eggs are very large, can be 5 to 8 times larger than a chicken egg, weighing around 240-270 grams. Incubation Behavior: Unlike other birds, maleos do not incubate their eggs. They bury them in naturally heated sand or soil, such as near hot springs or warm beaches. Chicks: After hatching, maleo chicks are able to fly and are independent, requiring no parental care.
