SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3

The inspiration behind this video: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is following two financially successful movies, but there's now a lot of weight on the threequel's shoulders to perform better than Sonic the Hedgehog 2's box office performance. After a false start with the trailer that featured the ghastly-looking CGI Sonic, which oddly had very human features and didn't remotely resemble the iconic SEGA mascot, Paramount delivered an entertaining popcorn flick with 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog. The CGI was corrected, the story and characters were faithful to the source material, and Jim Carrey's performance as Dr. Robotnik marked a strong comeback. The 2020 movie made a strong $302 million worldwide with a budget of $90 million. 2022's Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was also well received and had one of the strongest Rotten Tomatoes scores for a video game movie, 69%. The sequel outperformed its predecessor too, making $405 million worldwide. However, with the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in production, there's now a lot of pressure on the studio for the threequel to become way more successful than its predecessors, as The Super Mario Bros. Movie's $1.3 billion gross has put the SEGA franchise to shame. Thank You So Much For Watching!
