The Ba Dinh District, in particular, is home to 44 of these distinctive constructions, easily visible in the cityscape. However, since 2005, the government has implemented a rule prohibiting the construction of such petite homes. This regulation stems from concerns about the buildings' resilience to earthquakes, necessitating a minimum width of at least 3 meters.
