Israel warns civilians in Rafah to evacuate as IDF assault into South Gaza appears imminent
"On Monday, the Israeli military on called on Palestinians in eastern parts of Rafah to move to a nearby ""humanitarian area"" in what appeared to be the beginning of a civilian evacuation ahead of a ground assault on the southern Gazan city.
This followed overnight strikes in Rafah by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
""Where will the people go? Where will all these crowds go? One-point-five million, or 2 million civilians, where will they go?"" displaced Palestinian Abu Ahmed said.
More than 34,600 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 77,000 have been wounded in Israel's assault in Gaza since Oct. 7, according to Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry."
