The incredible force of nature off the coast of Ynys Meain
Ynys Meain is the middle of the three main Aran Islands in Galway Bay, off the west coast of Ireland. The population is about 184 (2022 census), making it the least densely populated of the Aran Islands. It is also one of the most important strongholds of traditional Irish culture. The island is predominantly Irish-speaking and is part of the Gaeltacht.
