28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is now available to buy or rent on digital platforms such as Prime Video. Fans who missed the Nia DaCosta-directed feature in theatres can catch up at home after a tepid box office response. The Bone Temple continues the long-running zombie franchise that began with Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, which starred Cillian Murphy and spawned 28 Weeks Later.

With talents like Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell and newcomer Alfie Williams, the film takes an empathetic turn toward the infected and builds on the narrative of its predecessors. Critics have favored The Bone Temple: it holds a 92 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, outperforming the previous entry, which was rated 88 percent.

Critic Ross Bonaime praised the film: "Nia DaCosta and Alex Garland have set the bar high with what could easily be the best horror film of 2026, taking a genre that we’ve seen time and time again and breathing new life into it by focusing on the goodness and charity within humanity right until the film’s very last frame.
