Stephanie DeRoss says her 4-year-old son, Daniel, asked in November if he could bring his 2-year-old sister, Sophia, to his preschool's show-and-tell after the class was prompted to "bring in something they were thankful for."

DeRoss documented the moment in a TikTok video set to ABBA's "Slipping Through My Fingers," captioned, "Rich in life cause I’m their mom 🥹😭." She told PEOPLE she messaged Daniel’s teacher for permission and was "pleasantly surprised" when the teacher said yes.

DeRoss describes the siblings as having a special bond: Daniel "loves to be her protector" and the two "hate to be apart," with Sophia sometimes getting upset at school drop-off when her brother is gone.

During the presentation Daniel shared that he and Sophia like to play cars together, that Sophia’s favorite food is yogurt, and that "they both love to sleep in Mommy's bed!" DeRoss stayed and filmed the moment and said, "I cried the whole time while filming them."

DeRoss said she was surprised the video took off on social media and was happy to share the memory, adding she hopes it’s a moment the children will remember forever and that hearing similar stories from others "made my day, too."
