5 New Stylish Hotels for City Lovers
The New York Times on Jan. 28, 2026, highlights five new hotels for city lovers in Austin; Santa Fe, N.M.; Rome; Osaka, Japan; and Dubai, offering a mix of urban access and hotel comforts. In Austin, the Inn at Green Pastures opened last month in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood on a more-than-130-acre site.
The 63-room-and-suite inn features live oak trees and resident peacocks, a pool and patio open year-round, on-site dining including Mattie’s and Henry’s, and rooms designed by Clayton Korte; prices from $395 a night. Hotel Glorieta in Santa Fe is a refreshed, 128-room-and-suite property set on six acres on a hill above downtown, near the Santa Fe Plaza and museums.
Renovated by Santa Fe–based French & French Interiors, rooms have black vigas, pine furniture and Southwestern-style rugs; public spaces include the Marigold Room and Lady Duff’s Lounge, an outdoor hot tub, and a seasonally open pool (June through mid-October); prices from $165 a night.
Corinthia Rome occupies the former Bank of Italy headquarters and offers 60 neo-Classical rooms and suites within walking distance of the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon. Bookings are available now for stays beginning in February; the hotel preserves frescoes and marble paneling, houses a spa in the former vault with laurel-leaf designs and shallow relaxation pools, and includes two restaurants run by chef Carlo Cracco; prices from 1,300 euros, or about $1,544, a night.
