7 book-to-TV adaptations to watch in 2026, from Scarpetta to Neuromancer

Scarpetta, adapted from Patricia Cornwell’s novels, will star Nicole Kidman as forensic pathologist Kay Scarpetta and Jamie Lee Curtis as her sister Dorothy, with Ariana DeBose, Sosie Bacon and Bobby Cannavale also in the cast. MovieWeb notes the series will chronicle Scarpetta’s life and work from the 1990s until the present.
AppleTV’s Neuromancer, based on William Gibson’s 1984 novel, is expected to premiere sometime in 2026 and follows Molly (Briana Middleton) and hacker Case (Callum Turner). MovieWeb reported there was no official release date at the time of writing and said the series will join AppleTV shows such as Pluribus, Silo and Severance.
The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 is scheduled for Feb. 20, 2026 on AppleTV. Based on Laura Dave’s 2021 novel, the adaptation stars Jennifer Garner as Hannah Hall, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Owen and Angourie Rice as Bailey; MovieWeb added that Season 1 had seven episodes and Season 2 will continue with eight.
