Gamesradar reports that 81-year-old Sue Jacquot of Queen Creek, Arizona, began streaming Minecraft on YouTube in October to help pay for her grandson Jack Self's cancer treatment. ABC15 later visited the family and quoted 17-year-old Jack as saying he is "cancer free" and "feeling great."

Jacquot, who had never considered herself a gamer, learned Minecraft this past summer to connect with grandchildren Jack and Austin and launched a channel called GrammaCrackers a few months later with the aim of easing the financial burden of Jack's aggressive cancer treatment. Jack was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer called sarcoma in 2024 and has since undergone more than 200 chemotherapy treatments, and Jacquot said she has received an outpouring of support, from prayers to uplifting messages.

Austin said "we were all mind blown that she was able to figure it out and then it just kind of went from there," and Jack said "it was just very sweet to watch everybody being so kind to me and my grandma." The report does not specify how much the channel raised or whether it fully covered treatment costs, and it does not outline the family's next steps.
