"Seven," the fourth episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, arrived early because of the Super Bowl. The prequel is set roughly halfway between House of the Dragon Season 3 and the start of Game of Thrones Season 1 and has been dubbed for months as the franchise's savior.

It lacks dragons and Battle of the Bastards–scale conflict, but it makes up for that tenfold in heart and personality. The episode follows the aftermath of Dunk's clash with Prince Aerion as characters prepare for a Trial by Seven. Dunk must assemble his team to face Aerion's, and the climactic twist finds Prince Baelor Targaryen joining Dunk against members of his own family.

The original Game of Thrones theme plays over the closing minutes, a moment showrunner Ira Parker teased in Episode 1, and Sir Duncan's line "Are there no true knights among you!?" rings out. A Trial of Seven came to Westeros with the Faith of the Seven and the Andals and is presented as a seven-on-seven ritual used less often than a single Trial by Combat.
