A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Reclaims No. 1 on HBO Max
George R.R. Martin has singled out A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms as his favorite spin-off and praised its faithfulness to his Dunk and Egg stories, which he calls among his "all-time favorite tales". He also recently admitted a once-close creative partnership with House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal had deteriorated.
After Episode 4, "Seven," earned a near-perfect 9.7/10 on IMDb, Episode 5, "In the Name of the Mother," has since risen to 9.8/10 as the series edges toward its finale. The show's surge has returned it to the top of HBO Max's U.S. streaming chart, displacing the medical drama The Pitt, and it now sits first in global charts as well, although The Pitt holds the top spot in 27 countries.
A logline for Episode 5 reads: "Dunk's mettle is put to the test in the brutal trial of seven.
