Collider reports that A24 has released the first trailer for The Death of Robin Hood, a historical thriller starring Hugh Jackman.

The trailer shows Jackman’s Robin Hood grappling with a past life of crime and murder after he is gravely injured in what he thought would be his last battle, and a mysterious woman offers him a chance at salvation. The film’s poster, which Jackman shared yesterday, carries the tagline “He was no hero.” Jodie Comer and Bill Skarsgard co-star, and the movie was written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, who previously directed A Quiet Place: Day One and Pig.

Jackman also has the whodunnit comedy The Sheep Detectives on his slate, due May 8, 2026. He is expected to return later this year in Avengers: Doomsday, but that has not been officially confirmed; it has been confirmed that Patrick Stewart and James Marsden will reprise their X-Men roles, and Marvel is reportedly seeking younger talent to play a new generation of mutants after Secret Wars.
