Aaron Moten on Maximus' Season 2 showdown with Quintus

Collider spoke with Aaron Moten and co‑showrunner Geneva Robertson‑Dworet about Fallout Season 2, centering on Episode 4, "The Demon in the Snow," and the pivotal confrontation between Maximus and Quintus.

Episode 4 sees Lucy and the Ghoul reach New Vegas and face an Elvis ghoul horde, a Deathclaw and Lucy's Buffout addiction, while Maximus confronts a moral crisis: after Xander threatens to kill Thaddeus and any ghouls with him, Maximus kills Xander to prevent the slaughter and then resolves to kill Quintus — a task that proves difficult before he flees their Area 51 base with Thaddeus and the cold fusion. Moten said the season shows a harder, more mature Maximus and noted that "we show so much of what is at his core in the first season," pointing to earlier moments, including an interrogation scene with Quintus, as key to that development.

Robertson‑Dworet declined to spoil how often Maximus and Thaddeus team up, saying she hasn't seen later episodes, and praised the duo's chemistry. She called the Season 1 fan response "relieved, actually," and said the creative team aims to be faithful to the games while making intentional, clear changes.
