ZDNET: Acer Veriton NUC AI mini PC praised for compact design and ports

ZDNET reviewed the Acer Veriton NUC AI PC, a tiny Copilot PC aimed at business users, and said it delivers a very small footprint while offering multi-monitor support and a broad selection of ports. ZDNET noted the model is currently on sale for $829. The Veriton measures 5.16 x 5.16 x 1.69 inches, weighs about a pound and ships with a 90W power adapter; it is VESA-compliant for mounting behind a monitor.

The unit includes four USB-A ports (two USB 3.2 up front, two USB 2.0 at the back), HDMI and DisplayPort outputs on the rear, and DisplayPort over USB-C on the front, supporting up to three external monitors. ZDNET also highlighted that the front USB-C supports data transfer and can charge external devices.

On the back are two 2.5Gbps LAN ports and the Veriton supports Wi‑Fi 6; above the power button is a fingerprint reader that can be set up through Windows Settings. Acer built heat vents on every side except the top and front to address potential heat buildup from laptop-class hardware.

ZDNET tested a higher-end configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD and found everyday performance comparable to a midrange Windows laptop. The reviewer reported smooth multitasking until roughly 40 Chrome tabs, after which slowdown and blank pages appeared; downloading a large game triggered throttling and temporary freezes.
