Nbc reports that Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) will be missing from Chicago P.D. Season 13 as family matters pull him away from the Intelligence Unit.

In Season 13's "Heroes," Desk Sergeant Trudy Platt asked Kevin Atwater where Ruzek was, and Atwater replied, "Disco Bob's not doing too well, so he needs a little time." Earlier, Burgess told Voight Ruzek couldn't help on a case because of an "emergency with Bob." Ruzek has been helping care for his father since Season 12, when Bob revealed an Alzheimer's diagnosis; Ruzek helped select a long-term care facility and paid visits whenever possible. It sounds like Bob's condition has taken a turn, so Ruzek will be missing in action until his father is feeling stable.

Showrunner Gwen Sigan has teased the back half of Season 13 will include "deep dives" into each member of the Intelligence Unit, including a Torres episode tied to a previous cold-case storyline. Meanwhile, Voight remains entangled in a blackmail scheme by Internal Affairs District Commander Devlin, who has threatened to go public with a false smear about Voight's late father if Voight doesn't turn in his badge; Voight has not handed it over.
