Nbc reported that during the January 27 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, 40-year-old Amanda Seyfried surprised the studio when she and host Kelly Clarkson performed an impromptu live duet of 'Beautiful Disaster'.

Seyfried had told Clarkson she considers the live version from Clarkson's 2004 album Breakaway "the power ballad of the century," and the audience cheered as Clarkson and Seyfried began to sing. The show's house band, Y'all, played the familiar opening piano notes, Clarkson said "I want to harmonize," and the pair harmonized as Seyfried delivered what viewers described as breathtaking vocals before collapsing back onto the couch in apparent delight.

'Beautiful Disaster' was originally included on Clarkson's 2003 debut album Thankful and a stripped-down live version closed 2004's Breakaway. The song never cracked the Billboard Hot 100 but did reach the Official UK Singles Chart at #124 eight years after its initial release.
