Businessinsider reports Rebecca Yarros' Fourth Wing is being adapted into a Prime Video series produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society.

Amazon acquired the rights to the full Empyrean series and Yarros is an executive producer who has shared the five‑book arc with the studio. Outlier Society hired Moira Walley‑Beckett as showrunner in July 2024 but she exited the project in July 2025; Meredith Averill was reported to be set as the new showrunner in September 2025. Yarros said she read the pilot in January 2025 and praised it, though it is unclear how the script may have changed since Walley‑Beckett's departure.

Yarros has said casting will be handled by the show's staff and has avoided naming a fan cast to allow for more diversity. She has one firm request for producers: no whitewashing of Xaden, who is described in the books as having warm tawny or tawny‑brown skin.

No casting or release dates have been announced. In January 2026 Michael B. Jordan said the series was still in early stages and that the team wanted to deliver what fans expect and some surprises; Amazon declined to comment when contacted.
