AMD says Valve 'on track' to ship Steam Machine 'early this year'
AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su said Valve is "on track to begin shipping its AMD-powered Steam Machine early this year." The Steam Machine reportedly uses a semi-custom AMD RDNA 3 GPU paired with a Zen 4 CPU.
Valve had previously stated the new Steam Machine would release at some point in 2026, but AMD's comment suggests the device could arrive sooner than that timeframe.
Dr. Su also highlighted inflationary pressures on commodity pricing, including memory, and said the PC total addressable market is down a bit. The Steam Machine is listed with 16 GB of system RAM, and AMD indicated that memory cost pressures may affect pricing and modelling.
The company’s remarks leave timing and final pricing unresolved, and the report notes further details may arrive soon.
