A brief post from leaker HXL on X lists just "6 8 10 12" and "8+8 10+10 12+12", prompting speculation about AMD's next desktop Ryzen lineup. Since Zen 2, AMD's desktop chips have used CCDs that house eight cores; even when models show six cores, two are simply disabled.

Expectations for Zen 6 point to 12-core CCDs, and the numbers could map to single-CCD chips with 6, 8, 10 or 12 cores—meaning a Ryzen 7 might become a 12-core, 24-thread part rather than the current eight-core, 16-thread configuration. The second line, with paired values, suggests dual-CCD designs.

Configurations such as 6+6 and 8+8 would yield 12-core/24-thread and 16-core/32-thread Ryzen 9 parts, and 12-core CCDs would also allow an intermediate SKU between the current top and bottom Ryzen 9 chips. A larger CCD gives AMD room for more SKUs at launch—multiple X variants followed by non‑X models—potentially expanding the family to 14 chips, and with X3D and iGPU‑less versions the total could reach 28.
