Ana de Armas and Jennifer Connelly to Star in Apple TV Spy Series
Ana de Armas and Jennifer Connelly are circling lead roles in Safe Houses, a new spy drama for AppleTV. The series is based on the 2018 Dan Fesperman novel of the same name and follows the mysterious murder of a CIA agent in Madrid and two women determined to get to the bottom of it.
De Armas is set to play Sofia Jiménez, a fellow agent who has been framed for the murder, while Connelly will portray Ambassador Elizabeth Winthrop, the dead man’s widow. As their paths converge, the pair uncover a global conspiracy. De Armas returns to television after early work on the Spanish drama El Internado, and has recently appeared in films including No Time to Die, The Gray Man, Ghosted and the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, with an upcoming role in the thriller Sweat.
Connelly, fresh from Top Gun: Maverick, starred in and executive produced Bad Behaviour and currently appears in the AppleTV series Dark Matter alongside Joel Edgerton. Safe Houses was created by Gideon Raff (Homeland), who will executive produce and direct several episodes.
