Animal Crossing 3.0 adds a second daily Kapp'n Boat Tour

Polygon reports that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 3.0 update now lets Kapp'n offer two Boat Tours per day instead of one.

The change ties to the new dockside hotel run by Kapp'n's family and uses Hotel Tickets, a new currency earned by decorating hotel rooms and completing DIY requests posted on the dock. Reddit user danniperson shared that, after working at the hotel for a while, Kapp'n offered a second Boat Tour, and the outlet tested the claim and confirmed that after completing all eight hotel room designs and the VIP room a second ride became available for 100 Hotel Tickets. As far as we can tell, there does not seem to be a secondary requirement involving the number of DIYs submitted or total Hotel Tickets earned.

Though a small tweak, the ability to take two Boat Tours could double the chance to land on a rare island and double the crafting materials players can acquire. This would be especially useful after a player receives a fortune from Katrina that their luck with belongings will improve, which guarantees a rare island, and because the ability requires progressing the hotel it gives players more reason to keep decorating.
