Anker Solix opens preorders for E10 modular whole-home backup system
Anker Solix has begun preorders for the E10, a hybrid whole-home backup system that combines battery storage, solar input and optional generator integration. The company says the E10 is the first residential system of its kind to blend all three power sources across the continental US.
The E10 uses a modular 6 kWh battery that can scale up to 90 kWh when combined with three full systems. According to Anker Solix specifications, a single unit can deliver up to 37.2 kW of surge power, and a Turbo Output mode boosts power to 10 kW per unit for up to 90 minutes. Each unit accepts up to 9 kW of solar input and is compatible with rigid panels, portable panels and third‑party AC solar systems.
Anker Solix says its Smart Generator connects directly via DC rather than AC, which the company claims extends backup duration by five times compared with traditional generator setups. Two installation options are offered: a Power Dock that provides automatic switchover to backup power within 20 milliseconds, and a Smart Inlet Box that provides manual switchover and integrates with existing solar.
The hardware is designed for outdoor installation with an all‑metal NEMA 4 enclosure and an operating range of minus 4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit; the company offers both DIY-friendly stacking and nationwide professional installation. ZDNET's Jason Howell, who saw the E10 at CES 2026, described the design as approachable and said the DIY pitch seemed credible.
