Goal reports Antoine Semenyo is set to make what could be his final appearance for Bournemouth when the Cherries host Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, with a medical in Manchester reportedly booked for Thursday ahead of a transfer to Manchester City.

The winger has a £65 million release clause due to expire on January 10, and Sky Sports first reported the Thursday medical. Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola said he has tried to keep Semenyo for as long as possible and that the player featured for the full 90 minutes in Saturday's loss to Arsenal, but conceded: "I think it could be the last game... there is nothing agreed and nothing signed." Semenyo rose from non-league loans after joining Bristol City in 2018, moved to Bournemouth for £10m in January 2023, and has nine goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season, after eight in 33 and 11 in 37 in previous campaigns.

If the transfer is completed before the weekend, Semenyo should be eligible for Manchester City's FA Cup third-round tie on Saturday against Exeter City; City then face Newcastle United in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final next Tuesday and a Premier League trip to Manchester United. The club are also examining defensive options following injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi under consideration.
