Anya Taylor-Joy's Peach Stars in New Super Mario Galaxy Trailer

Nintendo released a new Super Bowl trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, offering a fresh look at the film now less than two months from its global premiere. The sequel is slated to arrive on April 1, almost exactly three years after the debut of the original movie.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Princess Peach takes center stage in the new footage, joined by Chris Pratt as Mario. The Super Mario Bros. Movie previously grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, making it one of the most profitable movies ever and prompting Nintendo to greenlight this follow-up.

The sequel expands the cast with Brie Larson as Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., and features an absolutely adorable Yoshi. Jack Black returns as Bowser.

The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, with a script by Matthew Fogel. Its release arrives amid a broader surge in animation box-office success, following hits such as Zootopia 2 and Ne Zha 2.
