Apple TV's Most Ambitious Sci-Fi Series Goes Supernova Ahead of Season 2

Apple TV unveiled the Season 2 trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters at its Press Day, making clear that everything is getting bigger, messier and more dangerous. Season 2 premieres Friday, February 27, 2026, with new episodes released weekly through May 1. The series is already sitting in Apple TV’s Top 10.

Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett and Anders Holm are all set to return. The new season follows the fate of Monarch — and the world — as buried secrets reunite heroes and villains on Kong’s Skull Island and lead to a mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea.

Past events create ripple effects that blur the bonds between family, friend and foe, with a Titan event on the horizon. Legendary Television continues to produce the series, with Chris Black serving as showrunner for Season 2. Executive producers include Matt Shakman and Joby Harold, and Toho Co., Ltd., the home of Godzilla, is also involved.
