Apple TV+'s The Studio wins Golden Globe for best TV comedy
Apple TV+ series The Studio won the Golden Globe for best television comedy or musical at the 83rd Golden Globes, the awards ceremony’s live coverage reported.
The Hollywood satire, which set an entire episode at an awards show, follows studio head Matt Remick (Seth Rogen) and his underling Sal Saperstein (Ike Barinholtz). The Globe was presented by Adam Scott, who appeared in the episode as a parody of himself; Rogen said in his acceptance, "So weird, Adam was in the show!" The episode was noted for poking fun at Hollywood grandiosity while also celebrating the industry with abundant celebrity cameos.
Rogen said the series is shot in "long, continuous takes" and used the win to thank the crew, "most of whom don’t get invited to this, but they should." The award highlighted the show’s industry satire and its collaborative production approach as recognised at this year’s ceremony.
