Arc Raiders: Where to find Arc Deforesters and fix 'A Prime Specimen' bug

Polygon published a Jan. 28, 2026 walkthrough for the Arc Raiders quest "A Prime Specimen," which sends players on Blue Gate to locate an Arc Deforester — a large, non-hostile tree‑cutting machine — but the objective can sometimes bug out and appear incompletable. There are three Arc Deforesters on Blue Gate: between Broken Earth and Ridgeline; in the middle of the Adorned Wreckage; and in Barren Clearing, west of Village and Raider's Refuge.

Before you go, bring at least two Arc Powercells for the objective — Polygon recommends carrying four in case the bug appears and you need extra attempts. Inside a Deforester you'll find an open, sparking panel on the left. Spend one Arc Powercell to interact with it; flames will ignite intermittently on the right.

Run through gaps in the flames, then use a second Powercell on the panel behind them, which makes the flames rotate in a circle. Time both interactions carefully, as fire deals heavy damage. Climb to the bridge above, walk to the far end, interact with the rear panel and then search it to complete the quest.

Polygon notes the search prompt may not always appear — if it fails, try using more Powercells on that Deforester, go to one of the other Deforesters, or have another player interact; Polygon's team was able to finish after a friendly player completed the final step.
