Kotaku reports that Embark, the developer of Arc Raiders, has begun issuing permanent account suspensions to players accused of stream sniping.

Since the New Year the game’s community has raised concerns about cheating, with streamers such as Shroud complaining on January 6 and others warning they might move on if problems persisted. Embark previously removed access to the Unreal Engine console in the PC build via a hotfix — saying the console was never supposed to be available — and on January 13 released a patch that nerfed some PvP elements and blocked key card spoof cheats, while announcing longer-term plans on the game’s Discord.

According to posts on Reddit and X, streamers have reported that suspected stream snipers are now receiving permanent suspensions, and images have circulated on social media showing ban messages that begin, "Permanently suspended," with text saying access will not be restored. Earlier punishments had been 30-day suspensions; one such 30-day ban for Tfue was later restored and appears to have been an error.

Examples posted so far appear focused on people who deliberately join the same lobby as streamers or exploit visible session UUIDs to match games, and Embark’s move to issue permanent bans suggests the studio is taking the problem seriously. It remains to be seen whether these actions will meaningfully improve the experience for streamers and the wider PvP player base.
