Following the Headwinds update, an Arc Raiders player recycled 109 Venator guns after a temporary, unintended nerf — but Embark has since reversed the change and some weapons were accidentally buffed.

The Headwinds update introduced solo vs squads matchmaking and new cosmetic “duckies,” and arrived amid a severe DDoS attack. Embark community manager Ossen said on the official Discord that the update also caused a bug that reduced some weapons' rate of fire, and that the change was not intentional.

Some players reacted by scrapping stockpiled weapons. One individual recycled all 109 Venators in their stash, a moment shared via Nickmercs with the comment “RIP to the guy who recycled 109 Venator 4s,” and other players asked, “Who tf has room for 109 vennys,” arguing it wasn’t worth hoarding them.

In trying to undo the nerf Embark overcorrected: the Venator now fires 0.7 seconds faster than before the nerf (via .avxry), the Burletta also received a faster fire rate, and the Kettle is faster too, though by less. The article notes the current boosts were accidental.

It’s unclear how long the accidental buffs will last — developers have been working to put things back to normal — so recycling 109 Venators may prove premature, even if the player’s stash now has room for 545 rubber ducks.
