Arc Raiders' PvE mode goes live today with Shared Watch event — Pcgamer

Shared Watch, an annual holiday event in Arc Raiders, goes live today. It’s aimed at players who prefer teaming up against the machines instead of facing other raiders in PvP. This will be Arc Raiders' first specifically PvE mode. Previously, the only PvE options were 'blessed' lobbies you could reach by sacrificing yourself in PvP—refusing to shoot at anyone, even while under fire—and aggression-based matchmaking remains unclear.

Embark has said the game wasn't built with PvP in mind and that gunning down fellow raiders doesn't fit the game's ethos, but extraction shooters can't fully restrict how people play. Shared Watch removes the incentive to kill other raiders: players will earn merits from destroying, assisting and damaging ARC and earn rewards, while no merits are earned from PvP encounters.

Bring a friend or bring a stranger, but above all, bring enough ammo to make sure the machines notice you first.
