In Arknights: Endfield you must supply your base with enough power to keep machines running, and Thermal Banks are the main way to increase overall power output.

Thermal Banks unlock after progressing the main story until the mission Paving the Way, which opens the second set of AIC upgrades; you then spend a Basic AIC Index to unlock the Power I technology.

Place Thermal Banks in your base or at outposts like any factory item. They require power themselves, so put them next to an Electric Pylon and set up a supply line to keep them fed with Originium Ore.

Originium Ore works early on, but Batteries are significantly more efficient. LC Valley Batteries output more than four times the power of Originium Ore, and later SC and HC Valley Batteries offer even more power. Batteries are expensive to manufacture and can be traded at outposts for Stock Bills.

To make LC Valley Batteries, use a Packaging Unit to combine Originium Powder and Amethyst Parts; you should have plenty of these ingredients by the stage when you can craft them. You can dedicate an AIC output port to Thermal Banks or use a Splitter to siphon Ore from other lines.

Because factory space is limited early in Endfield, place Thermal Banks at each outpost and consider dedicating an outpost to Battery production to free up space elsewhere as you unlock higher-tier Valley Batteries.
