A judge in New Mexico on Friday issued a warrant for the arrest of Timothy Busfield, a 68-year-old actor and director, on charges of child sex abuse, court records show. The warrant was signed by a Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court judge in Albuquerque, and Mr. Busfield was not in custody as of Friday night, Detective Chase Jewell of the Albuquerque Police Department said.

Mr. Busfield was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse after two boys, both 11 and related, who were actors on the Fox crime drama The Cleaning Lady said he had touched them inappropriately over a period of years, a police affidavit said.

One of the boys said Mr. Busfield had touched his genitals starting when he was 7, and both boys told forensic interviewers that Mr. Busfield had touched them inappropriately, the affidavit said. The police investigation began in 2024 after a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital requested a sexual-abuse investigation and said it appeared the boys were being groomed, the affidavit said.

One boy told a therapist, a pediatrician and a forensic interviewer that Mr. Busfield had entered a bedroom on the television set and touched his penis and buttocks over his clothing, according to the affidavit. According to the affidavit, Mr.
