Arsenal emerge as front-runners to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace
Arsenal have emerged as one of the front-runners to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, who is apparently ready to snub presumed favourites Manchester City, Independent.co reports.
Guehi's Palace contract expires in the summer and he is said to favour a move to Arsenal or Liverpool rather than City, who were hoping to sign him during this window to ease their defensive injury crisis. Pep Guardiola’s side have already completed the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £62.5m, with Semenyo scoring on his debut in a 10-1 FA Cup win over Exeter City.
Arsenal are also reportedly preparing an £87m bid for PSG forward Bradley Barcola and have opened talks over the 23-year-old, while being linked with Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande and Rennes youngster Jeremy Jacquet. The club may also lose right-back Ben White, with Everton said to be offering him regular first-team football.
It remains unclear whether Guehi will move in January; reports say he favours Arsenal or Liverpool but no transfer has been confirmed.
