According to Goal, Arsenal have hired former Liverpool throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark as they seek to strengthen their bid to win the Premier League title.

Per the Standard, the Gunners — who have scored 12 goals from dead-ball situations and sit six points clear of Manchester City — recruited Gronnemark as Mikel Arteta looks to maximise marginal gains. Gronnemark spent five years in Jurgen Klopp's backroom staff after joining Liverpool in 2018, the season the Reds won the Champions League. He was previously an athlete in Denmark, once held the world record for the longest throw-in and represented his country in bobsleigh for four years, and he is said to be particularly adept at teaching teams to retain possession and build attacks from throw-ins.

Gronnemark has spoken about the importance of throw-ins, saying in 2024 that data showed Liverpool were 18th in the Premier League for throw-ins under pressure and that in his first season they improved from 45.4% to 68.4% and moved to number one. Arsenal are next in action against Portsmouth in the FA Cup third round, then face Chelsea in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, before a Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
