Arsenal one foot from Champions League quarters after 4-0 win
Arsenal have one foot in the Women's Champions League quarter-finals after beating OH Leuven 4-0 in Belgium. Frida Maanum scored twice and Olivia Smith and Alessia Russo also found the net, moving the reigning European champions closer to a last-eight meeting with London rivals Chelsea.
Caitlin Foord's lively play set up the opener after 22 minutes, with Maanum heading home from her cross, and Chloe Kelly — making her first start for club or country since limping off in early December — delivered the cross for Smith's goal. Maanum added a second early in the second half after more good work from Foord, and Russo came off the bench to pounce on Smilla Holmberg's deflected delivery.
Several Arsenal players earned top marks, with Katie McCabe, Maanum, Foord, Smith and Kelly all rated 8/10. Leah Williamson and Laia Codina were among those given 7s, Daphne van Domselaar 6, and Alessia Russo 7 from the bench.
