Ashley Knott and Tobias Kammerer wed at Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables

Ashley Marie Knott and Tobias Kammerer were married Jan. 3 beneath the Banyan tree on the back lawn of the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s uncle, Peter Regalado, a Florida notary, and was attended by 17 guests. The couple met in the fall of 2016 at Fat Daddy’s in Gainesville while students at the University of Florida; Ms.

Knott initiated the conversation and their first date after reconnecting was on her 21st birthday, St. Patrick’s Day in 2018, at Dragonfly Sushi & Sake Company. Mr. Kammerer was born in Katy, Texas, raised mostly in Miami, and has a Cuban mother and a German father; Ms. Knott was born in Coral Springs and raised in Palm City.

Ms. Knott is a senior manager of social media at Farrynheight in New York, and Mr. Kammerer is a footwear color and pattern designer for Merrell in Rockford, Mich. Ms. Knott said, “Toby needed to be peeled like an onion,” describing how they learned one another’s personalities. The couple moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., in 2022 when Mr.

Kammerer accepted an internship with Merrell; living together through their first cold winter and knowing no one in the area helped deepen their bond.
