At least six train-based survival base-builders are due in 2026
Pcgamer reports that the survival genre is seeing a wave of mobile bases on rails: at least six—possibly seven—survival base-builders set on moving trains are slated for 2026.
Titles include Frostrail from FakeFish, a solo or co-op survival FPS set in deadly cold where you scavenge, fight hostiles and upgrade your train’s engine; EverRail, which supports up to four players, drone scouting, FPS combat and a respawn system tied to remaining passengers; Enginefall, which stages fights through a monstrous megatrain from tail slums to first-class cars; Frostliner, a linear narrative-driven mobile city on rails after the moon shatters and the world freezes; Steel Ark, a warmer-environment survival builder with scavenging, automation, vehicle variety and modular carriage upgrades; and Steel Artery, a steampunk train city-builder with resource management and survival elements. Railborn was also showcased, offering freeform car-building for different biomes on an alien world, but it has not officially confirmed a 2026 release.
What is known is the cluster of train-focused projects and their core mechanics; exact release dates and which of the possible seven will arrive in 2026 remain unclear from the reporting.
