Avalanche avoid slump, keep unbeaten home point streak entering Week 15
Cbssports reports the Colorado Avalanche shook off back-to-back regulation losses to the Tampa Bay Lightning (4-2) and Florida Panthers (2-1) by routing the Ottawa Senators 8-2, blanking the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-0 and then taking a 4-3 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs after Martin Necas' goal with just over seven minutes remaining in the third period.
The Avalanche sit at 33-4-8 overall and remain unbeaten in regulation at Ball Arena (19-0-3). Nathan MacKinnon leads the NHL with 36 goals and 81 points and posted multi-point efforts against Ottawa and Toronto, while Cale Makar tops defensemen with 53 points. Veteran Brent Burns scored three times last week, Josh Manson had a four-point game in the Ottawa rout and rookie Ilya Solovyov began a three-game point streak after a slow start to the season.
Colorado has four games remaining on its seven-game homestand, including two scheduled in Week 15, and will carry its home-point streak and the recent offensive contributions of several key players into the next week of the 2025-26 season.
