Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Marks Return of Cyclops and Magneto
Collider reports a new theatrical trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has arrived during the run of Avatar: Fire and Ash, and it officially brings back Cyclops and Magneto as part of the film’s X‑Men.
Like the previous two installments in Disney's rollout plan of four trailers across four weeks, the new trailer gives theatergoers the best look yet at the X‑Men, complete with comic‑accurate costumes for Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Nightcrawler, Mystique, and Cyclops. The clip follows an earlier dramatic chair reveal that reunited the old 20th Century Fox X‑Men — including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden — and positions those legacy characters to interact with MCU veterans such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Simu Liu, Paul Rudd, and Tom Hiddleston, as well as the Thunderbolts, the Fantastic Four, and Channing Tatum's Gambit.
Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom remains largely in the shadows in marketing so far; his return has been reported to include a payday of over $100 million and his motivations are being kept a mystery. Downey Jr. is also confirmed to return for Avengers: Secret Wars, plot details for both films are being kept under wraps, and one more trailer will be released with screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash next week. Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
