Bad Bunny’s 13‑Minute Halftime Set Redefined the Super Bowl Stage
Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, delivered a 13-minute Super Bowl halftime set that felt intentionally intimate rather than built for pop maximalism. He was the first solo halftime performer to sing an entire set in Spanish, anchoring the show in his Puerto Rican roots.
The production opened with sugar cane fields and jíbaros wearing straw hats; a casita, domino players, piraguas and a live wedding created a neighborhood scene more than a spectacle. Celebrity guests such as Karol G, Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba and Cardi B blended into the crowd, while Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga—who performed a salsa version of her song with Bruno Mars, "Die with a Smile," wearing a blue gown with a plant that represents Puerto Rico—appeared without derailing the narrative.
