Bad Bunny to headline Super Bowl halftime after Grammy win
Just a week after winning the Grammy for Album of the Year, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny will take on the US’s most watched concert when he performs at the Super Bowl this Sunday. His 2025 record Debí Tirar Más Fotos, a politically minded album infused with Puerto Rican music and culture, became the first Spanish-language work to win the prize.
At the Grammys he echoed anti-ICE sentiment, saying “ICE out. We are not savages, we are not animals, we are not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans,” and adding, “The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love.” At a pre-show press conference he said: “I really want people to have fun.
It’s gonna be a huge party. I want to bring what people can always expect from me, and a lot of my culture.” The booking produced both jubilation and hostility. Corey Lewandowski called it “so shameful,” and the homeland security secretary Kristi Noem warned ICE would be “all over” the Super Bowl.
