Baldoni says Lively 'setting me up for a trap' over intimate scenes
People reports that Justin Baldoni wrote in an unsealed Dec. 30, 2023 text to his former WME agent Danny Greenberg that Blake Lively was 'setting me up for a trap' during rehearsals for It Ends With Us. Baldoni said Lively 'refused' to use a body double for sex scenes, then insisted a body double be used in his place, rejected his storyboards and pushed to keep the actors fully clothed, prompting Sony executives and producer Todd Black to step in.
Baldoni told Greenberg he had endured a 'really, really bad week,' called the situation 'a gigantic clusterf---,' and said he was giving Lively '95% of what she wants for peace,' while describing working with 'an actress who is rewriting the writer and director' as draining and time-consuming.
Five days later, on Jan. 4, 2024, Baldoni, Lively, Ryan Reynolds and studio representatives held an 'all-hands' meeting to discuss 17 protections Lively had requested; those measures were agreed to in writing in mid-November 2023 and were intended to address her concerns about on-set conduct and safety.
