Polygon reported that The Last of Us series co-creator Craig Mazin has partnered with Hasbro Entertainment to create a TV show for HBO based on Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3. The show — titled Baldur's Gate — will have Mazin as co-creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner, and its story will pick up where Baldur's Gate 3 left off.

The series will feature both new characters and familiar faces, though no details have been released on which characters will appear or who will play them. Because a Baldur's Gate 4 is not currently in development, Mazin will likely have substantial freedom over the show's story, and Wizards of the Coast head of story Chris Perkins will serve as a consultant to help keep the series true to its D&D roots.

Mazin, who said he put "nearly 1,000 hours into the incredible world of Baldur's Gate 3," called the chance to continue the story "a dream come true" and praised Larian and Wizards of the Coast.
