Bandai Namco unveils Age 1000 Dragon Ball game due in 2027
Polygon reports Bandai Namco announced a new project codenamed Age 1000 at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event, promising a fresh Dragon Ball entry built around original characters.
The publisher said Age 1000 will deliver "a brand-new Dragon Ball world" with original characters designed by series creator Akira Toriyama; the teaser centers on a never-before-seen character Toriyama designed before his death in 2024. According to an official description from Bandai Namco, Age 1000 will "introduce even more unique characters as the adventure unfolds." The trailer highlights an unnamed Capsule Corporation character wearing the initials "GS" and briefly shows images of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, Beerus and others before the new character goes Super Saiyan.
Age 1000 shares its name with the setting of the Dragon Ball Online MMORPG, which launched in select Asian markets starting in 2010 before its servers were shut down; elements and characters from that game were later repurposed for the Dragon Ball Xenoverse titles. Bandai Namco has slated the new project for a 2027 release on unspecified platforms and said more details will be revealed at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 in the U.S. on April 18-19.
