Barry Keoghan debuts Ringo Starr-style mop-top at London screening
Barry Keoghan debuted a long, Beatles-style mop-top at a London screening of his new film Crime 101 on Jan. 28, 2026, a look that closely resembles Ringo Starr — whom Keoghan is set to portray in Sam Mendes’ The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. The 33-year-old Irish actor attended the screening at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square with longer-than-usual brunette locks styled into a voluminous, shaggy cut that evokes Starr’s 1960s mop-top and 2010s boy-band looks; photos show him touching his hair and wearing a face-covering scarf, and he posed with costars Monica Barbaro, Halle Berry, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo.
The music-focused project will consist of four separate but intersecting films, each following one Beatle, and is expected to release worldwide in April 2028. Mendes said the films will be the "first bingeable theatrical experience" at CinemaCon in March 2025, and Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions first announced the films in early 2024.
Along with Keoghan as Starr, Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn will play George Harrison and Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon. Starr reacted to the films in an exclusive chat with PEOPLE, saying, "I’m excited that [Mendes] has taken the madness of making four movies at the same time.
My life as a lad, John's life, Paul's life, George's life, I mean, it must interact in some way." He added, "There’ll be Beatles in mine around when I joined, and there’ll be Beatles in Paul’s. We’ll all be there.
