Goal reports Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has responded to Harry Kane's suggestion that he could extend his stay at the Allianz Arena beyond his current deal, saying the striker is hugely important to the club and that fresh talks will take place “at the appropriate time”.

Kane, who joined Bayern in the summer of 2023, told fans at a club visit that staying past June 2027 is “100 per cent possible”. Dreesen welcomed those “positive signals”, saying “If he said that, then I am happy about it” and calling Kane a cornerstone because of his goals, style of play and leadership.

With Kane's contract due to expire in June 2027 and the forward aged 32, Dreesen said there is no rush but confirmed discussions will happen when the moment is right: “We will certainly speak to each other at the appropriate and right time. We have great trust in the process and in Harry.” The CEO also noted Kane's successful settling in off the pitch, his family’s relocation to Bavaria, and the striker's on-field record of 115 goals in 121 games (30 in 25 appearances this season), plus his recent appearance in a 5-0 friendly win over Red Bull Salzburg.
