Ben Fogle details favourite shops, coffee gear and vintage finds
Ben Fogle, the adventurer, broadcaster and bestselling author who is co-owner of Sheffield-based outdoor clothing brand Buffalo Systems, outlined his shopping habits and favourite purchases in a recent interview.
He said his last treat was vintage wood cladding from English Salvage and that most food shopping is done online by his wife, Marina, with fresh top-ups from local producers such as Bosley Patch in Henley. He described a treasured painting of his late labrador Inca by artists Olly and Suzi, and recalled giving his children small bottles filled with melted snow from the summit of Mount Everest.
Fogle named Marrkt as his favourite online store for secondhand clothing and said he loves Baileys in Wales, calling it "a dangerous shop to visit". He uses a portable OutIn espresso machine on the road and makes coffee at home with an AeroPress and a Bialetti. He also mentioned a long-standing fondness for Marvis toothpaste, a saved-search for old Grenfell woodworks, and that antiques—particularly folk art and model boats—are his biggest splurge. His greatest vintage find is an old French grocer’s shop counter now in his office.
His show Wild is scheduled to tour the UK from 23 Feb; beyond that, the interview lists his shopping preferences and little-known purchases but does not set out further plans in detail.
