Ben Stiller Responds to "Hearsay" Article About 'Severance's Future
Apple TV has acquired Severance for its third season and any potential future seasons in a deal reported to be worth about $70 million, a move that the coverage says provides the streamer greater freedom over production. The arrangement has been likened to the Silo/AMC situation, and Apple reportedly hopes the series will run at least four seasons while exploring possible spin-offs.
Director and producer Ben Stiller addressed the report in a tweet. Star John Turturro has said Season 3 will begin filming this summer, with production set to start in July. If the timeline follows the first two seasons, filming could continue through the end of the year, meaning the show will not premiere before the end of this year; a late 2027 release is most likely.
Severance stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, an employee at Lumon Industries where some workers undergo a procedure that separates their work and personal memories.
